Get to know Caroline Yaffa

I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in broadcast journalism and sports administration. I am also a student in UNC’s Honors College: Honors Carolina. I have played sports throughout my life and I was a three-sport varsity athlete in high school as well as captain of the women’s basketball and tennis teams.

At UNC I have been able to pursue my passion for sports and news through broadcasting. As an anchor and analyst for UNC’s sports network, production assistant for Go Heels, and emcee for UNC Women’s Basketball, I have gained amazing experiences in front and behind the camera. In addition, I have conducted interviews in front of 8,000 people at the Dean E. Smith Center and emceed a sold-out Carmichael Arena, for games live on ESPN and the ACC Network.

I have participated in many internships throughout my four years in college that have taught me about news and sports media. For example, I worked at FOX 5 DC, NBCUniversal, and ESPN. These experiences helped me develop behind-the-scenes learning, about the media industry.

As reflected in my background, I am extremely motivated and driven, eager to pursue a career in journalism.
